The International Council of Design is looking for a full-time Office Manager for its Secretariat located in Montréal Canada. This is a remote working position. Applications will be accepted until 01 January 2023.

ABOUT THE COUNCIL

The International Council of Design is a Council of independent Member organisations, a global network spanning over 50 countries that share common positions, commitments and standards relating to design. ICoD Members create a unified voice for the global design community and drive a high level dialogue on the leading role design plays in society, culture and the economy. The Council's Secretariat is located in Montréal, Canada.


POSITION

The Office Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the Secretariat operations. The candidate will be responsible for the financial budgeting and oversight as well as tracking and reporting to the Executive Board. The Office Manager will maintain Council records including recording of meetings, agreements, partnerships and other legal documents. The candidate will manage and coordinate the office staff and execute the logistic plan as determined by the ICoD Executive Board. They will ensure the ongoing daily communications with Council Member associations and organisations as well as Council working committees. This is a full-time position.


QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, international relations, design or equivalent

Professional
Management experience within international or national non-governmental organisations
Leadership experience with staff or volunteers teams
Appropriate financial management experience
Adequate knowledge of the design sector
Experience working with volunteer boards
Event management experience


Other considerations 
Knowledge of Mac platforms, Microsoft Suite (expert), Adobe Creative Suite (functional)
Experience working under pressure in a constantly changing environment to meet tight deadlines
Demonstrated cross-cultural knowledge and understanding


LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

The candidate must have a high-level command of written and spoken English. A working knowledge of French is necessary. A third language, especially Arabic, Chinese or Spanish, is an asset. 


VISA REQUIREMENTS

Only candidates with the legal ability to work in Canada will be considered. The position is open to Canadian citizens or any national already holding a valid work visa for Canada. For the time being this is a remote working position that is based in Montréal. Some travel may be required.
