2014 SEGD Global Design Awards Program: call for submissions

United StatesThe annual Global Design Awards Program was established in 1987 to recognize the highest standards in environmental graphic design. In late 2013, the SEGD descriptor was changed from Society for Experimental Graphic Design to Society for Experiential Graphic Design.
The awards program illustrates the pandisciplinary nature of visual communications in the built environment and their important role in providing context, a strong sense of place, and navigational aids through complex human-made environments.
Winning projects have included wayfinding, placemaking and identity, exhibition, strategy/ research/planning, and public installation projects in the workplace, healthcare, education, exhibitions, recreation, retail, hospitality, and transportation industries.
Submission Requirements
- Projects must have been completed between January 1, 2011 and December 31, 2013.
- This program is open to both members and non-members of SEGD.
- Projects must demonstrate the use of graphic design elements (including but not limited to typography, symbols, pictograms, diagrams, and color coding) in the design solution and must focus on the communication of information, identity, or image in the designed environment.
- Projects entered in previous years may be entered again if they did not win an award.
- There is no limit on the number of entries that can be entered by an individual or firm.
- Entries are not accepted from the firms of the jurors.
Awards and Prizes
Winners will be announced at a speical awards ceremony during the SEGD Conference to be held in Atlanta, June 5-7, 2014. Winners will also be announced in an SEGD press release, on the SEGD website, and in eg magazine.
