What's new at BODW 2009
France is the partner country for BODW 2009. With a long history of artistic and cultural developments, France is a cultural mecca as well as an essential design destination. Old-world artisan traditions combined with high-quality materials and design excellence had cemented their reputation for perfection and excellence. At the same time, France used to lead the world in avant-garde movement and now - in fashion design. BODW 2009 strives to reinforce the position of Hong Kong creative sectors by assaying the success factors of French design and to explore our common qualities such as commerce strength and long standing culture. The week-long BODW features BODW Forum, the most significant platform for designers and business leaders to exchange ideas, and the HKDC Annual Awards Gala Dinner - a glittering event considered the highlight of the week - and an astonishing array of impressive outreach programmes, concurrent conferences and exhibitions. This year, French design icons along with other top international design masters from across the globe will be discussing topics of great importance, such as Fashion & Apparel, Product Design & Technology, Design & Communications, Space & Landscape, Intellectual Property, and the West Kowloon Cultural District Project.
