Taiwan (Chinese Taipei)ICoD is pleased to announce the Member Event the Taiwan International Graphic Design Award (TIGDA) 2017 organised by China Productivity Center. Deadline for submission: 15 July 2017. Submit online here
With the aim of upgrading the capacity of Taiwan Commercial Design and to promote the opportunity for Taiwan Commercial Service Design field to interact with international design community and to establish the Taiwan International Design Award brand, MOEA hosts ‘Taiwan International Graphic Design Award.’
Eligibility:
The competition is open to designers from all regions and countries. (It can be registered jointly by design executor (corporation) and institutes serviced by those executors (organisation, corporation and related institutes are included).
Categories:
Entries are grouped into two main categories:
I. Taiwan International Poster Design Award
A. Specific Theme: Human Concerning, Sustainable Development (Environment Protection, Energy Conservation and Carbon Reduction are included.)
B. Non-specific Theme: Commerce, Arts, Public Welfare and Purpose Popularisation.
II. Taiwan International CI Design Award
A. Corporate Identity: Brand, logo and other series of design application works for corporations and institutions.
B. Event Identity: Logo and series of design application works for commercial campaigns/events.
Important Dates:
Registration opens: 15 April 2017
Deadline for submission: 15 July 2017
Preliminary selection online: 20 July - 9 August 2017
Announcement of finalists: 15 August 2017
Deadline of submission for final works/mock-ups: 15 September
Final selection: 27 September
Work exhibition: 28 September - 13 October 2017
Award ceremony: early November
The competition will be announced on the official website in October 2017.
The awarded works will be exhibited and collected in the Tung-Fang Design Institute-Shigeo Fukuda Design Museum after the final selection.

Winners receive variety of prizes in each category including a Grand Prize, Gold, Silver, Bronze, Honorable Mention, JAGDA Excellence Award, , among others.

A. Grand Prize (1 person): A Medal; invited to an exchange of topic in the host country.
B. ico-D Excellence Award (1 person): A Medal.
C. JAGDA Excellence Award (1 person): A Medal.
D. TPDA Award (1 person): A Medal.
E. GDA-ROC Award (1 person): A Medal.
F. TGDA Award (1 person): A Medal.
G. KCA Award (1 person): A Medal.

- Gold Award (2persons)
- Silver Award (2 persons): Medal
- Bronze Award: (2 persons): Medal
- Youth Award: (2 persons): Medal (for participants under 35 years old and not receiving other medals)
- Judge Panel Special Award (each member of the judge panel will select one winner. Winners are selected outside the Gold/Silver/Bronze Medal winners): Medal
B. All award winners will receive an award certificate (in addition to the winners of the medal). Their works will be exhibited and collected in a special publication.
III. Category of Taiwan International CI Design Award
A. Corporate identity and event identity categories
- Gold Award (2 persons): Medal; invited to an exchange of topic in the host country (note).
- Silver Award (2 persons): Medal
- Bronze Award: (2 persons): Medal
- Youth Award: (2 persons): Medal (for participants under 35 years old and not receiving other medals)
- Judge Panel Special Award (each members of the judge panel selects one winner. Winners are selected outside the Gold/ Silver/ Bronze Award winners): Medal
B. All award winners will receive an award certificate (in addition to the winners of the medal). Their works will be exhibited and collected in a special publication.

Note: If Grand Prize and Gold Award winners are unable to attend the awards exchange activities, subsequent winners will be invited to the exchange
Application of Awarded Works:
(1) The awarded works will be collected in the “Taiwan International Graphic Design Award” publication.
(2) The awarded works will be published on the “Taiwan International Graphic Design Award” website and relevant publications.
(3) The awarded works will be exhibited in exhibitions relating to the plan promotion by Department of Commerce, Ministry of Economic Affairs.
(4) The awarded works will be exhibited and collected in the Tung Fang Design Institute-Shigeo Fukuda Design Museum.
