GOOD 50X70 2009

From 05.12.2014 Competition
South KoreaNow in its third year, Good 50x70 is again announcing its call for entries. Creatives, designers and anybody and everybody else in the world who is inspired by the online briefs is invited to participate. Those who enter can strive to produce something that might make a difference in the world.
The 2009 edition
This year's edition aims to make Good 50Ã70 easier to participate in, for designers and for participating charities, on a wider level. Firstly, the database of all the posters entered will be open to any charity that wants them. More importantly for 2009, Good 50x70 will organise all of its activities (contest, workshops, exhibitions) on a city-wide basis. This means working with local charities, local school and local designers in one city on posters that will be displayed around the city and that will hopefully have a genuine impact on the local community and produce something positive and tangible for the charities involved.Likewise, the organisers are currently putting together the final touches to Good Amsterdam, which will hopefully launch in March. Yet the beauty of this initiative is that it can work anywhere in the world, on any level.

Background
To make a stand against collective apathy, the competition organisers decided to create their own project to reward creativity in social communication and provide charities with a database of communication tools they could use for campaigns.Good 50Ã70 was created as an independent, non-profit initiative with the following aims:
- to promote the value of social communication in the creative community,
- to provide charities with a (free) database of communication tools,
- to inspire the public via graphic design.
The focus is an annual contest to design posters confronting seven of the critical issues affecting todayÂs world. Good 50Ã70 chose posters as the medium for the contest as they are the most direct way to convey a message and can be easily translated to other media.
