ABOUT IBDA

The former Busan Industrial Design Exhibition has developed internationally into the International Busan Design Award. The award offers an opportunity for the international design industry to share and exchange design concepts. The purpose of the award is to increase the marketability and expand the cooperative channels of the design industry of Asia, stimulate information exchange and strengthened relationships between manufacturers and universities, and create business relationships and jobs through prize-winning exhibitions and platforms. The event is co-organised by the Busan Metropolitan City, the Busan Office of Education, the Busan Chamber of Commerce, and the (Non Profit) Design Council Busan, and hosted by the (Non Profit) Design Council Busan.

ELIGIBILITY

The award submissions are open to university students (including graduate students), the general public, and companies. A Student Section allows Elementary, Middle and High School students, as well as people who are preparing for university, entry. Recommended and Invited Artists through Busan Industrial Design Exhibition are also eligible to submit.

CATEGORIES
The categories were organised in consideration of their contribution to the creation of industrial design products and the possibility of developing related industries.

JURY

Judges are members of related domestic and international organisations, and professionals in the various design fields. Jurors will judge thoroughly and fairly according to the following criteria: 

A. Shows creativity
B. Functionality for its suited purpose and efficient
C. Efficient and appropriate use of the materials characteristics
D. Comprehensive shape for Aesthetic sense

Final Round of Judging: 21 November 2019
Announcement of Results: 25 November 25 2019
Return of Entries: 07 - 09  December 2019, 10:00-18:00

Award-Winning Exhibition Period : 04 - 06 December 2019 (Venue: Design Council Busan, 1 F, Exhibition Hall)
