ICoD is pleased to announce the Member Event Taipei International Design Award (TIDA) organised by ICoD Member China Productivity Center. Deadline to submit: 18 July 2019.

ABOUT

The ethos of the Taipei International Design Award is “Design for Adaptive City”, an on-going gesture to the world, particularly to those with a passion for creativeness and design. It is a gesture that further aims to project the image of an urban platform for design: “Design Taipei; Dream Taipei”. 

TIDA is an open call for outstanding international designs that have strong business potential and encourage social design practices. The Taipei City Government is devoted to shaping Taipei into a city with design vision, encouraging designers to contemplate the meaning of design, so that Taipei becomes a platform for advocacy of design as a medium for problem-solving and change: for the larger public, society and the city. 

TIDA is in collaboration with Graphic Design Association of the Republic of China, Chinese Industrial Designers Association, Chinese Society of Interior Designers, The Graphic Design Association of the Republic of China and Taiwan Poster Design Association.

CATEGORIES

Entries are grouped into three main categories: Industrial Design, Visual Communication Design and Public Space Design.

1. Industrial Design
Industrial design refers to design works that can be mass-produced, including general and digital application, transportation tools, equipment and instruments, daily utilities and household goods, IT and home appliances, etc.

2. Visual Communication Design
Visual communication includes designs of digital graphic creations, identity, posters, packaging and printing (including digital printing) etc.

3. Public Space Design
Open space provided for public use, government buildings and certain private establishments.

DATES

18 July 2019: Deadline to submit
23 July 2019: Preliminary online selection 
16 August 2019: Announcement of finalists
16 September 2019: Deadline for submission of final works/mockups
25 September 2019: TIDA 2019 Final selection (Taipei City, Taiwan)
31 October - 01 November 2019: Evening of TIDA 2019 + Award Ceremony Taipei City, Taiwan)
 

GUIDELINES

Everyone around the world is welcome to participate individually or as a group (each group is limited to five members) with one member acting as the main correspondent. Entries must be original creations by the participants completed after June 30, 2017.

Note: The competition was known as the Taipei Industrial Design Award from 2008 to 2011, and was re-named Taipei International Design Award in 2012, and has been so called since.
