ICoD is pleased to announce the Member Event the 2021 International Busan Design Award (IBDA) organised by Design Council Busan.

2021 International Busan Design Award (ibda) is an open place for the international design industry to share various design concepts and to revitalize the industry by linking platforms in order to realize and commercialize the ideas.
Previously known as Busan Industrial Design Exhibition since 1981, ibda was newly born to International design award in 2019 to improve Asia's market competitiveness of regional design industry and to expand cooperative world design networks.

The event is co-organized by the Busan Metropolitan City, the Busan Office of Education and hosted by the Design Council Busan. ibda is promoting participants from all over the world, from elementary students to publics and companies.
This year, the award ceremony and exhibition will be held as a main event in 2021 Busan Design Week which is the largest design festival around the region co-hosted by Design House Co., Ltd.

EVENT DESCRIPTION
Previously known as Busan Design Exhibition since 1981, International Busan Design Award has been held for the third time as an international design competition since 2019. By sharing various design concepts and linking platforms in order to realize and commercialize the creative ideas, the International Busan Design Awards is becoming an open place for the global design industry. International Busan Design Awards is an event co-hosted by the Busan Metropolitan City, the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, and the Design Council Busan.

Entries are eligible for elementary school, middle school, and high school student(s) or the youth preparing for university (Student department), and college student(s), general public, and company (general department) with 2 or fewer pieces.

Entry fees for the student department and general public including university students are free. The entry fee for the company is 100,000 KRW per each piece and payment can be made at the submission stage via credit card.
The fields of entry are communication, product design, and environmental design including service and public design, craft, and fashion design(free theme). The judges of the award are openly recruiting through the award homepage(design experts with more than 10 years of relevant experience in the design field), and the judges will be announced before the screening using a random selection program. The total prize money is 44 million KRW, and the ibda Grand winner will be granted 15 million KRW.

This year, 2021 International Busan Design Award ceremony will be held as the main event of Busan Design Week, and the exhibition will be held from Jun 17-20 at BEXCO Exhibition Center Ⅱ, Busan, South Korea.

*Busan Design Week (BDW) is the largest exhibition specialized in design in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam province, to improve the global market competitiveness of the design industry and expand cooperative channels through industries, schools, and government organizations, co-hosted by Design House Co.,Ltd., KNN, and Design Council Busan.
