Anahuac (Mexico) - The School of Design at Anahuac University in Northern Mexico and Encuadre, the Mexican Association of Graphic Design Schools, invite alumni, professors and design researchers to participate in the nineteenth National Meeting of Graphic Design Schools. "Design for Humanity 2008 / the taste of design" is a series of conferences and workshops to be held in Mexio City from 6-10 October, 2008.

The objective of the Congress is to reflect on global design solutions, integral solutions to our needs and the current challenges of our globalised world in the context of package design, branding, labelling systems, packaging systems, graphic identities, interior design, furniture design, lighting design, editorial design, fashion design, culinary utensils design, design and ambience lighting, and many more.

The Congress offers a discussion space developed by multi-disciplinary paths around the theme of gastronomy. Gastronomy has been chosen as a theme because, through an understanding of other disciplines we can understand our own. Gastronomy can be a metaphor for the teaching processes, the learning and the practice of design. Through this theme we can share concepts, processes, methods, findings, discoveries and exploration.

To help with this reflection and exploration of our creative processes, well known international design and gastronomy professionals have been invited to participate in the Congress: Giancarlo Illiprandi, Gala Fern?ndez, Patricia Quintana, Martha Ort?z Chapa, Mónica Pujol, Michael Kramer, Juafra Valente, Mario Sandoval, Jan Hendrix, Gerda Suter, Enrique Saavedra, Rosemary Mart?nez, Raquel Hern?ndez White and Gustavo Avilés, among others.

Workshops offer a variety of themes for students and teachers to immerse themselves in an exploration and reflection space.
