Call for entries launched for "red dot award: communication design 2010"

Essen (Germany) - Olympians from all around the world have already shown their motivation and competitive spirit this year – now designers, agencies, design firms, and clients of the international communication design industry are called upon to demonstrate their design expertise and creative skills: as of now, the "red dot award: communication design 2010" is open for entries until 11 June 2010 at www.red-dot.de/registration.
Independent design experts will act as fair referees and select the best works in the worldwide comparison. This year for the first time a particularly successful client will also be honoured with the title "red dot: client of the year".
"Especially during periods of economic difficulty, when financial means have to be distributed thoughtfully and great importance is attached to design quality, our jurors are expecting markedly high-quality and innovative creative achievements," says Professor Dr. Peter Zec, initiator of the red dot design award and head of the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen, "because these times require special measures and the courage to look for spectacular new solutions in order to attract attention, develop new target groups, and create loyal customers as well as partners."
The festive awards presentation and the opening of the special exhibition "Design on stage – winners red dot award: communication design 2010" will take place at the red dot design museum on 8 December 2010. After that the award-winning works will be presented in a special exhibition at the red dot design museum from 9 December 2010 - 9 January 2011.
