Hong Kong (China) - As part of the Hong Kong International Poster Triennial 2004, Hong Kong Heritage Museum will be hosting a two-day symposium to foster international cultural exchange in the field of design. Under the theme 'Multiple Identities,' the symposium will explore how culture and identity is expressed in poster design, and how design concepts vary with political and ideological change. Designers are invited to participate in the free symposium, to be held 27-28 November 2004.

Opened in December 2000, The Hong Kong Heritage Museum (HKHM) is the first museum in Hong Kong, China, that has the aim of developing as a centre for collecting, researching and promoting design. It consists of 12 galleries covering different aspects of history, art and culture.

The Hong Kong International Poster Triennial, a major event organised by HKHM and endorsed by Icograda,* documents the development of international poster design and celebrates achievements and global interest in design. It is organised in three consecutive events: a Competition, Exhibition and Symposium.

The Symposium provides a platform for professional graphic designers, poster designers and design experts to share their views and creativity. The judges of the competition and international design scholars will speak at the event:

About the Hong Kong International Poster Triennial Exhibition
The exhibition of the Hong Kong International Poster Triennial showcases the selected entries from the poster competition, as well as posters designed by the five international judges.
