Montreal (Canada) - Icograda has announced the candidates for the 2011-2013 Executive Board, which will be elected at the General Assembly 24 taking place in Taipei, Taiwan (Chinese Taipei) from 27-28 October 2011. Leimei Julia Chiu (Japan), currently serving as President Elect, will become President and Russell Kennedy (Australia), current President, will assume the position of Past President. Delegates to the General Assembly 24 may nominate additional candidates from the floor during the meeting.

President Elect Chiu's vision for the 2011-2013 term includes Icograda furthering its role as ambassador of design in service of humanity. "As a world body, Icograda is uniquely positioned to open dialogue and bridge the divide between leaders in communication design and those developing their presence in or use of the field. As such, the organisation can create a platform for individual members to play a larger role and have a positive impact on an international scale."

A major thrust of Icograda's 2006-2011 plan was expanding membership and enhancing the visibility of the organisation. In this term, a stated goal is to better serve under-represented segments: geographic regions without member or board representation; mature organisations with needs beyond growth and recognition; and young designers whose voices are seldom heard.
