EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION FOR ICOGRADA DESIGN WEEK IN QATAR

Doha (Qatar) - Registration is now open for , taking place in Doha from 28 February - 8 March 2009. Register before 31 December and receive a discounted rate.
Hosted by the Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar (VCU Qatar), the Design week will consist of an Education Symposium and a Professional Conference, as well as Design Debate Doha and a selection of cultural events.
Open to practitioners, scholars, and students across design disciplines, cultures and regions, the Design Week will raise awareness of the importance and promise of the theme 'Collaboration', and will create the bonds necessary to achieve the full potential of design in the Gulf region.
The theme, Mousharaka, meaning 'collaboration', is a combined effort resulting in the deepening of relationships and shared knowledge. Design is now considered a team endeavor where collaboration is crucial to achieve innovative results inclusive of cultures and mediums. Designers are crossing boundaries and participating in creative interdisciplinary teams addressing broad issues of communication, space, systems thinking, cultural identity, style, and business. Designers have become instrumental in affecting change on a global level.
