Ljubljana (Slovenia) - On 12 February 2009, a collection of winning Slovenian designs from the , a past Icograda endorsed event, will be on display at the the Architecture Museum of Ljubljana. Designers Majda Kregar and Miha Kerin, Tina Je?abek, Igor Ravbar, Jernej Jaroslav Kropej and Samo Aèko will present their works at 18:00.

The 21st Biennial of Industrial Design, an Icograda endorsed event, was closed in November 2008. This comparative international exhibition of industrial design, visual communications and design concepts has been a tradition for over forty five years. BIO is continuously more vivid and responsive to current design movements, promoting contemporary trends in international design through its selection of well-designed products and its emphasis on quality, originality and innovation.

At the 21 Biennial of Industrial Design, on view from 2 October - 2 November 2008 at the Architecture Museum of Ljubljana,126 works from 18 countries were exhibited in three categories: products, visual communications and design concepts. The works for the exhibition were selected by the International Selection Committee. They made a rigorous selection, since only one third of 421 submitted works were selected. The final exhibition emphasised designs that offered creative and innovative solutions to current problems of contemporary life, that focused on sustainable development and social responsibility and that addressed the special needs of various groups of users

After examining the exhibited works, the International Jury consisting of Victor Margolin (USA), Vivian Cheng Wai Kwan (Hong Kong), Paulo Maldonado (Portugal), Iva Babaja (Croatia) and Johan Valcke (Belgium) presented the awards. The BIO GOLD MEDAL, QUALITY CONCEPT AWARD and HONOURABLE MENTION are a recognition of superior quality in design, while the award-winning works become part of the international design collection of the Architecture Museum of Ljubljana.

The exhibition of Slovenian BIO.21 prize winners will take place at the Architecture Museum of Ljubljana, Fuþine Castle, in Slovenia, opening at 18:00.
