Porto (Portugal) - This fall, Porto will host the annual meeting of (11-16 October), one of the most important events in communication design that gathers the world's leading graphic artists and design professionals.

This year's program is a bit different from previous congresses. AGI will extend its traditional one day student seminar to a two days (October 11-12) "AGI Open", a new public international graphic design event.

Organised by two Porto-based AGI members – R2 (Liz? Defossez Ramalho and Artur Rebelo) - and benefiting from their presence in the city, the conference aims to inspire reflection and debate over the creative process in design through presentations, exhibitions, workshops and an open exchange of ideas between AGI speakers and the audience.

Directed at design students and creative professionals, the conference offers a unique opportunity to meet the designers that have set the pace for international visual culture over the past decades. In a broad approach to communication design, the guest speakers are invited to share their approach to the creative process, from areas as diverse as graphic design, new technologies, artistic direction, photography, illustration or animation. The event will take place within Porto's iconic Casa da M?sica, designed by renowned Dutch architect Rem Koolhaas.
