Daegu (Korea) - is quickly approaching!  From 4-10 July 2008, professional and aspiring designers will come together to assess the current value of design and the role of colour in the communication design profession. Co-hosted by the Daegu Design Center and the Korea Experimentation for Experimentation in Contemporary Design (KECD), these two organisations have put together a programme that offers a thought-provoking forum.

International Conference
From 4-6 July, the three-day conference will showcase twenty presentations from Asia, Europe, North America and Australia. Each speaker will interpret the theme of 'Color Value'.

International Students Workshop
A series of workshops will explore the sub-themes of  'Color & Culture', 'Color & Media' and 'Color & Industry' from 7-9 July. Workshop leaders, who come from Japan, United States, Qatar and Korea, will bring their insights and knowlege to these student workshops. Find out more online.

About Daegu
The Design Week will take place in the third-largest cities in Korea, Daegu, also known as Colorful Daegu. This slogan illustrates the bright character of the city, known for its fashion, IT, culture and design.

The event marks the opening of the Daegu Kyungbuk Design Center, where business, universities and designers collaborate and communicate with each other, sharing information and creating ideas. The CenterÂ’s main activities include education, business support and public installations. The color research center, housed at the Center, aims to advance the study of color and its influence in design.
