agIdeas announces 2011 International Design Research Lab Call for Papers

Melbourne (Australia) - agIdeas is working in collaboration with Icograda to solicit papers for the agIdeas 2011 International Design Research Lab, a new one-day forum at agIdeas 2011 International Design Week. Submissions will be peer-reviewed and selected papers will be published on Iridescent: Icograda Journal of Design Research. Design researchers are invited to submit abstracts that address the brief, "Where is design practice at today?" by 1 February 2011.

The inaugural agIdeas 2011 International Design Research Lab aims to create awareness of new knowledge in the areas of multidisciplinary design practice and its benefits, and the relationship between design practice and education. Design researchers are invited to submit an abstract of the paper that address some of the topics about design practice via email by the 1 February.

Papers will be selected for presentation at agIdeas 2011 International Design Research Lab in two ways, one of five live presentations as part of the forum or a number of papers will be selected for presentation in poster format for informal discourse in the Great Hall of the National Gallery of Victoria.

A multidisciplinary panel, selected by Icograda for the purpose, will undertake the reviews, and successful papers will be published through the Iridescent online journal and also in the annual agIdeas Book.

Delegates who register for the agIdeas International Design Research Lab are eligible for discounted tickets to other events at agIdeas International Design Week.
