The ico-D Excellence Award winner Ling-Dan Wu, was awarded by Kyle Hyunsuk Kim, Vice President of International Council of Design (ico-D).

The ico-D endorsed Taiwan International Student Design Competition (TISDC), one of the largest worldwide student design competitions themed “Circle of Life,” held its Awards Ceremony at ARKI GALÉRIA in Taipei on 22 December 2014. In partnership with the National Taiwan Normal University (), Taiwan Design Center (TDC) and Macau Designers Association (), every year TISDC invites well-known scholars and designers from all over the world to form the jury for selecting the best designs from young talents. Since its establishment, the competition has attracted over 17,000 entries from 69 countries/regions.

Works were divided into four categories: product design, visual design, digital animation and brand specified - a category designated by participant companies. The Grand Prize for 2014 went to Red Spot of the digital animation category produced by Rui-Feng Huang of National Taiwan University of Arts - a work that explores possibilities for harmonious coexistence with the nature, and the human relationship to natural and animal resources.

Political Deputy Minister Lucia Lin stated that the objective of the Taiwan International Student Design Competition is to encourage the interchange of creative design among international students, and to seek out and support a new-generation of creative design talents.

First launched in 2008, and organized by the Youth Development Administration of the Ministry of Education, this year marks the seventh year of the event.
