Gothenburg (Sweden) - From 22 > 24 September 2005, the unique wharf setting of Eriksberg Hall in the port of Gothenburg, Sweden will host a multi-faceted conference treating the relationship of design to everyday life, with a specific focus on safety and security.

"The congress will epitomize design for all the senses," says Robin Edman, Chief Executive Officer of the Swedish Industrial Design Foundation (SVID). "We want to broaden the concept of design and its use, and surprise people about how design knowledge can be conveyed and how it can be used to build a safer, more secure world."

Featured keynote speakers include: Alfredo Haberli (world-renowned Product Designer), Leif Johansson, (CEO, AB Volvo), and Professor Karl-Henrik Robert (Chairman, The Natural Step).

Delegates to this Congress are encouraged to make their way to Copenhagen, Denmark afterwards, where debate on this issue will be expanded upon further.
