Brussels (Belgium) - The organising committee of the 15th International Poster and Graphic Arts Festival of Chaumont* has announced the winners of three successful festival competitions. The Prizes for the "ateliers/workshops" (artworks created by students in Chaumont), the "Students, all to Chaumont!" Competition and the International Competition were awarded at the opening ceremonies on 15 May 2004. Winning works will be shown at the Entrepot des Subsistances in Chaumont, France, until 27 June 2004. The International Competition received 1825 posters by 586 graphic designers from 45 countries. Out of these, 99 posters have been pre-selected to be shown at the Entrepot des Subsistances.

The winners are:
1st Prize: Michal Batory (France), The Power Book - 2003.
2nd Prize: Reza Abedini (Iran), Reve de Sable - 2003.
3rd Prize: Youmin Yuan (China), First International Poster Biennale of China - 2003.
Excellence Award ICOGRADA: Alain Le Quernec (France), Bebe n'aime pas fumer - 2003.

The "Students, All to Chaumont!" Competition received works under the theme: "Discriminations - Stop! Discriminations, whether racial, sexual, religious, political, social or working...stop!"

The winners are:
1st Prize: Emmanuel Le Danvic, Ecole des metiers de l'information de Paris (France)
2nd Prize: Emeline Letourneur, Ecole d'Art du Havre (France)
3rd Prize ex aequo: Emmanuel Pevny, Ecole Regionale des Beaux-Arts de Valence (France)
3rd Prize ex aequo: Virginie Laurent, Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Rennes (France)

From 11 May to 13 May 2004, 105 student projects were finalised in seven workshops following the theme: "Discriminations - Stop! Discriminations, whether racial, sexual, religious, political, social or working...stop!" The workshops were led by Anke Feuchtenberger (Germany), Bata Knezevic (Serbia), Alain Le Quernec (France), Giichi Okazaki et Miyako Okazaki (Japan), Kari Piippo (Finland), Jeanne Verdoux-Gibson (USA), Youmin Yuan (China). The winners are:
1st Prize: Cyril Galmiche, Ecole d'Art de Reuil-Malmaison (France)
2nd Prize: Aurele Orion, Ecole d'Art de Reuil-Malmaison (France)
3rd Prize: Marie Secher
