Call for papers: 4th International Conference on Typography & Visual Communication

Nicosia (Cyprus) - On 17-19 June 2010, the (ICTVC) will take place at the University of Nicosia, a member of the Icograda Education Network (IEN). Hosted by the Department of Design & Multimedia, this Icograda endorsed event will pivot around the general theme of "Lending Grace to Language".
After three important and successful international meetings (2002, 2004, 2007) ICTVC moves to Cyprus. Our new home sits at the crossroads of three continents, a location of historical significance that far outweighs its small size. The multicultural character of the island makes Cyprus a perfect location for a conference that explores the world of typographic design and visual language.
Abstracts of no more than 200 words and a short bio of 70-100 words, either in Greek or English, should be submitted by 10 January 2010. Conference presentations should be up to 30 minutes.

The event is organsied by the Department of Design & Multimedia, University of Nicosia (Cyprus), in collaboration with the Mass Media and Communication Institute (IMME), Cyprus, and AlterVision, Greece, and is supported by the Department of Typography & Graphic Communication at the University of Reading (UK), the Association Typographique Internationale (ATypI), the Greek Graphic Designers Association (EGE) and the Thessaloniki Design Museum.
