Designers may submit projects produced between 2019 – 2023 until 10 July here. The projects submitted in compliance with the terms of the call will be selected by an international jury made up of leading figures in visual communication design.

Submission for the 5^th edition of the Aiap Women in Design Award is open until 10 July!

AWDA, Aiap Women in Design Award was established with the aim of knowing and promoting the universe of women linked to the design of visual communication. The award moves along the path of research that AIAP has been carrying out for some time, with the commitment to search for languages, poetics and approaches to graphic design, which often remain invisible or in the shadows.

Born from an idea by Laura Moretti and edited by Cinzia Ferrara, Laura Moretti, Carla Palladino and Daniela Piscitelli, AWDA is an award aimed at professionals, students, researchers, and professors working in the field of visual communication design.

Since its first edition in 2012, the award has tried to draw a map of women’s visual communication designers, which represents on the one hand recognition of the territory, on the other hand, an investigation of the different phases of the designer's career, including not only the professional sphere (which undoubtedly occupies a significant percentage of the participating projects) but also the formative one that precedes the entry into the world of work, and of research that supports and substantiates the entire project world.

The AWDA biennial award, at its fifth edition, is open to all visual communication women designers and aims at understanding and promoting the little-known universe of women working in visual communication design. The main goal is to investigate the languages, poetics, and different graphic design approaches and to explore the conditions in which women designers work.
