Milan (Italy) - On Friday 6 October 2006, the Gallenga Palace of the University for Foreign Students of Perugia will host the AIAP and the world of the Italian graphic and visual communication.

The Association has chosen the town of Perugia as the ideal place for this year's meeting. There will be an unique opportunity for experts and designers to exchange ideas and to discuss the emerging trends in the area of graphics and visual communication with people from different disciplines.

During the three day event, discussions and round tables, meetings, shows, workshops and hands-on activities have been scheduled, and focus will be on the professional designer acting as "future trends promoter" and on the relevant consequences of the design policies. All the meetings are open to the public and free.

During the weekend, the projects of the workshop Un carattere per la citt di Perugia (A font for the town of Perugia) held at of the University for Foreign Students of Perugia will be presented.

In the show Conserve d'Autore (Master's canned Food) the creativity of thirty graphics designers will be matched against the design of Canned Tomatoes Labels with the aim of interpretation of the consumer wills and the goal to express through images the impending town crisis.

This activity has been gaining more and more relevance over the years. The community aims to create an opportunity to compare the quality of the graphic design and to document the multiplicity of developements, innovation and processes; the relevance of the graphic design discipline will be highlighted.

The book AIAP Community 02 will be presented at the Rendez_vous. The book collects and presents the best graphic italian projects posted at the AIAP National Meeting held in Trani in the year 2004.

Special guests during this rich and stimulating weekend: Baumann & Baumann and Ruedi Baur, international lecturers of the Meeting Orientamenti, Le citta i cittadini, i progettisti e l'identita : (Trends: Towns, citizens, designers and the identity) on the modality to build systems of local identity.

AIAP, the Italian Association for Visual Communication
AIAP started in 1945 inside the FIP and was known as ATAP (Association of Artist and Technical Professionals for Advertishing); since this time a better understanding of the aim of Association and a more mature definition of the professional mission of the associates has been gained.

In 1995 following the growth process ATAP changes its definition to AIAP (Italian Association of Advertishing Artists); the AIAP associates will be aimed to a different mission than advertishing professionals. AIAP has the mission to foster, promote and disseminate the profession and the discipline of the graphic design.
Association is accepted, with different and separate enrolling modalities, of all individuals involved in the graphic design and visual communication by professional activity or by study and academic research.

At the present, AIAP has chapters in all the Italian country, and accounts for more than 800 members professionals operating in the field of the visual communication.

AIAP is a full professional Member of Icograda.
