GRAPHIC DESIGN WEEK 2009 HOSTED BY IRANIAN GRAPHIC DESIGNERS SOCIETY

Tehran (Iran) - Coinciding with World Graphics Day, the (IGDS) hosted Graphic Design Week Tehran 2009, from 23-27 April 2009.

This first-time event aimed to introduce and exhibit the functions of graphic design in urban societies.

Graphic Design Week Tehran 2009 included the following four exhibitions:

Visual identity design in major cities today
Corporate identity design
City Directional Sign Design
Special section: A presentation of Iranian Museum of Graphic Design

The event also included the following lectures, seminars and presentations:

Overview of Tehran's city signs (1971-2007)
A closer look at Tehran's urban wastes
A critique of environmental and outdoor design in Tehran
The role of graphic design and architecture in Iranian cities' visual identity
A presentation on the Iranian Museum of Graphic Design
Function and importance of museums in preserving the cultural identity in civil society
