Fort Collins (United States) - In 2003, shortly after the war in Iraq began, the organisers of the Colorado International Invitational Poster Exhibition sent the following message to graphic designers around the world.

Recent international events have ignited the passions of all caring persons. We find ourselves in a new world of determined violence and upheaval that threatens the fabric of civilized relationships.

We invite your response.

Poster designers have a long and proud history of presenting the pulse of the common citizen into public view. The historical record of these expressions serves as a living body of work that continues to enrich our societies.

As we prepare for the 15 Colorado International Invitational Poster Exhibition (CIIPE), to open in September 2007, we once again invite designers to respond to ongoing global events and concerns.

The Colorado International Invitational Poster Exhibition is sponsoring an online exhibition of poster solutions dedicated to this spirit entitled "Graphic Responses". This third biennial exhibition will be held in concurrence with the 15 CIIPE. We intend to make this work available to an unlimited international audience through internet access.

We do not require a specific theme or text, only that your images address pertinent international events and concerns. We hope to collect your own personal and cultural insights. We are prepared to present two posters for each artist. Your submissions will be credited and protected from unlawful use. We will present and promote this work to our American media outlets.

If you wish to contribute your efforts to this project please send GIFs or Jpeg images (72 dpi) to posters@colostate.edu. Please send your name as you would like it listed, titles of posters, your country of origin, and optionally your written comments. All images are due no later then 1 August 2007. We look forward to your contributions.
