San Diego (United States) - The winners of the will be announced at their Design Awards Presentation and Luncheon, as part of the 2009 SEGD Annual Conference + Expo, 27-30 May 2009 in San Diego.

SEGD Design Awards Program
The annual SEGD Design Awards Program, endorsed by Icograda, recognises the best in environmental graphic design and illuminates the pan-disciplinary nature of visual communications in the built environment. Past winners have been honoured for complex wayfinding systems, branding and identity work, retail and interior projects, exhibition design, and public art installations.

This year's winners will receive their awards at the awards ceremony held at the 2009 SEGD Annual Conference + Expo, 27-30 May 2009 in San Diego. Furthermore, their winning projects will be featured in segdDESIGN magazine, the color publication of SEGD, and on the SEGD official website.

SEGD Annual Conference Expo, 27-30 May 2009, San Diego
The theme for this year's conference is "Blurring Lines, Crossing Borders, Ignoring Boundaries." The SEGD Annual Conference is the only international conference focused on communications in the built environment. The 2009 program will celebrate the dynamic, category-defying state of design today with an engaging schedule of presentations, panels, social events, and SEGD's signature Workshops on Wheels that will allow busy professionals to get out in the world and experience design projects first hand.

Program headliners include a number of prominent speakers from design journalists to industrial designers who will share their experiences. The conference also includes a range of workshop tours and technical workshops as well as a one-day Expo, during which attendees can mingle with over 70 targeted product and service sponsors and meet project collaborators with expertise in EGD and related projects.

Other conference highlights include the naming of the 2009 SEGD Fellow and the SEGD Excellence Awards.

The conference will also focus on a series of presentations on the current economic climate, including a leadership panel called "Surviving in a Tough Economy: Rules for the New Terrain." Other sessions will focus on business and marketing strategies and best practices during a down economy.

The 2009 all-inclusive conference registration fees are lower than last year's, and SEGD is offering other incentives including a 15% early bird rate and a free third night at the conference hotel with two paid nights.
