Istanbul (Turkey) - In the last 10 years, Bosnia & Herzegovina has faced a particularily difficult period of its history, including a war followed by an economical collapse.

During the 'Building Bridges' seminar in Istanbul (Turkey), Aleksandra Nina Knezevic will talk about Bosnia and Herzegovina's geographical position and history. She will explain how artists and designers survived this period and are currently developing their activities. She will present some of their works, mostly those that have been worked on for the last 10 years.

Aleksandra Nina Knezevic is a graduate of the Academy of Art, graphic design department, in Cetinje, Montenegro. After graduation she has been working in B Concept design & print studio in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, as graphic designer and art director for 6 years.

Currently, she is co-founder of Status Design studio in Sarajevo, where she also works as art director. Her main area of specialty is graphic design of printed and non-printed (web, multimedia) materials and applications. She has worked with a wide range of clients, including LG, VW, MTV, Skoda, Fruteks, Theater Fest, One World Communications, Heinrich Boll Foundation and others.

She is a member of ULUPUBiH, and participant of many international design competitions and exhibitions. Her work was exhibited in the Icograda Galeria.

About the Icograda Design Week in Istanbul:
The two-day 'Building Bridges' seminar is part of the Icograda Design Week in Istanbul (Turkey), from 27 to 31 January 2004. This seminar is free of charge but registration is requested. Seats will be given on a 'first come, first served' basis. It will bring together designers from Australia, Bosnia/Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, China (Hong Kong), Denmark, Great Britain, Greece, Iran, Israel, Lebanon, Russia, South Korea and Turkey to share their experiences and influences from their own regions. The seminar will showcase new perspectives on the diversity of graphic design today.
