ICOGRADA ENDORSES THE 7TH YOUNG PACKAGE COMPETITION, CZECH REPUBLIC

Brussels (Belgium) - The 7th Young Package Competition, Czech Republic, has received Icograda's endorsement.* Organised by the Design Centre of Czech Republic, the aim of the competition is to stimulate new approaches to cardboard and corrugated board packaging from the aspects of shape, technology and graphic design in order to create packaging of an original design. For the first time this year, plastic materials are also allowed. Packaging is viewed as a means of product protection and presentation. The competition maps new approaches to packaging technologies and related production.
The competition is open to students from vocational high schools and colleges of graphic arts, and designers up to the age of 30. The submission deadline is 3 May 2002. Packaging may be submitted under the following categories:
1. Cardboard and Corrugated Board
- Packaging
- Works of cardboard and corrugated board of the applied and free art character (everyday items, sculptures, ...)
- Special Theme for the 7th Young Package Competition: A cardboard or corrugate board handle for packaging.
2. Packaging in Plastic Materials
The catalogue presenting the results of the 7th Young Package competition will be sent to major producers of packaged products in the Czech Republic and abroad. The winning entries and other selected works will also be exhibited in the galleries of the Design Centre of the Czech Republic in Brno and Prague, as well as in other galleries in other participating countries (Poland, Germany and Slovak Republic).
