Brussels (Belgium) - To meet communication needs, Icograda will distribute a monthly electronic newsletter to promote the activities of educational institutions, design educators, researchers and students in the field of Graphic Design and Visual Communication. 'Icograda EduNews' will publicise news, research and events from participants of the Icograda Education Network (IEN) as well as activities of other schools around the world. Each issue will feature a profile and research abstract from an IEN Member School, and a monthly summary of IEN e-mail discussions. A wide variety of events and publications dedicated to design education will also be included in the e-newsletter, which will be launched in early October 2004.

The Icograda Education Network (IEN) is committed amongst other objectives to creating opportunities for exchange and collaboration at all levels of graphic design education (institutions, faculty and students). In keeping with this commitment, 'Icograda EduNews' will share current news of interest to graphic design schools around the world.

IEN Member Schools* will be featured each month in special sections of the e-newsletter:

Headline Stories: News releases of international interest that publicise school activities or research. Full news releases will be uploaded on the 'News' page of the Icograda Education Network website at www.education.icograda.net/web/news.shtml

Profile: A 100-word presentation of the school.

Research/Thesis: An abstract of current research at the school.

Discussion List: Highlights of moderated discussions from the IEN E-mail Discussion List.

All design educational institutions (IEN Members and Non-Members) may promote design events (such as conferences, workshops, lectures and courses) in the Icograda EduNews Agenda. Readers are also welcome to publish highlights from academic design publications (such as books, journals, theses, and online publications) in the Publishers' Corner. The special Library section will feature documents posted to the IEN website Library (accessible only to IEN Members).

Icograda invites all readers to submit news releases, publication highlights and events relevant to graphic design education for inclusion in IEN eNews. Please send submissions to education@icograda.org.

The first issue of EduNews will be distributed in the first week of October 2004. To subscribe to IEN eNews, please send a subscription request to education@icograda.org.
